We are all familiar with tape, but what is the process of producing tape? What machine is used to produce it? The tape coating machine is a machine and equipment used for coating BOPP tape. 1. Production process (coating)

BOPP is coated with a layer of butyl acrylate pressure-sensitive glue. The production process is called coating, which is quite simple!

 

2. Understand the coating machine

The coating machine is relatively large in size. The coating machines on the market not only differ in width, but also in length due to different design speeds. According to statistics from Zhuochuang, there are currently 0.5-meter, 1-meter, 1.3-meter and 1.6-meter coating machines in China. Among them, the 1.3-meter one is the most common, accounting for about 80% of the national usage; 0.5-meter and 1-meter more It is used by manufacturers to make printing and printing tapes; the 1.6-meter coating machine has only gradually become popular in recent years. The length of the coating machine is 30-40 meters (designed for drying glue).

 

3. Coating process (scraper + wire rod)

The coating machine has two coating processes, namely wire rod and scraper. Squeegee is a traditional coating process. Its advantage is that it can obtain higher smoothness and gloss; its disadvantage is that it has higher requirements for the original film and the glue coating speed is relatively slow. Wire rod is a coating process that has just emerged in recent years. Its advantages are: low requirements for the original film, fast glue coating speed, and can adapt to coating with high solid content; disadvantages: small adjustable range of coating amount , the measuring rod is easily damaged and has high requirements on glue quality. Each process has its shining points. The two processes can only coexist and neither one can be eliminated.

 

4. Coating speed (process differences)

The production process of the coating machine is divided into wire bar process and scraper process. Generally speaking, the production speed of wire bar machine is faster than that of scraper machine. According to statistics from Zhuochuang, the current production speed of wire rod machines is 250-260 m/min, 280-290 m/min, and some can reach more than 300 m/min; while the production speed of scraper machines is 220-230 m/min. minutes, 180-190 meters/minute, 150 meters/minute, and even some old lines are around 100 meters/minute. Therefore, the production capacity of each coating machine is still quite different.

 

5. Specific steps of tape production

1. Add raw materials: The first thing to do in the tape production process is to add tape raw materials, such as acrylic.

2. Emulsification tank: Then add acrylic tape raw material to the emulsification tank for emulsification.

3. Reaction pot: After acrylic acid is added to the emulsification tank for emulsification, it is then placed in the reaction pot for heating.

4. Glue: After passing the above tape production process steps, the finished glue product is produced.

5. Coating machine: Place the newly made glue on the film for gluing.

6. Semi-finished products: Semi-finished tapes—master rolls—made through these tape production processes.

7. Pipe cutting machine: Use the pipe cutting machine to cut the newly made tape master roll.

8. Slitting machine: After the tape master roll is successfully cut into tubes, a slitting machine is used to slit the tape production process.

9. Carton: After the tape mother roll is cut into tubes and divided into strips, it becomes the tape that people see on the market. It can now be packaged in cartons.

10. Tape: Place the packaged tape in the warehouse. This is the last tape production process. Only then can it be called finished tape.
